What is CSA?
CSA, community supported agriculture, provides members of the community the opportunity to support a local farm and in return receive a weekly share of the harvest. CSA’s are a win/win for both the farm and the consumer. The farm receives much needed funds pre-season to make necessary purchases to get seed in the ground, as well as allowing the farm to create a plan and budget.
The consumer receives the freshest possible produce, knows exactly where their food is grown and how, has a relationship with their farmer, and meets like-minded people. In addition the consumer is exposed to different types of produce and learns to eat in harmony with the local season. The typical weekly share consists of 6 to 8 different offerings: vegetables, fruit, and eggs.
